MÁLAGA, Spain - Creative platform Freepik has officially rebranded as "Magnific," marking a major milestone in its transformation from a humble stock image startup into a global AI-powered creative powerhouse.
Founded in 2010 by three entrepreneurs in Málaga, the company began as a simple search engine for free design resources. Over the past decade, however, it has evolved into a full-stack creative platform combining stock assets with advanced AI tools for generating images, video, audio, and 3D content.
The rebrand reflects this shift. Magnific now positions itself as an all-in-one creative ecosystem, unifying previously fragmented tools into a single platform designed to streamline workflows and lower the barrier to entry for creators.
The numbers underscore its rapid rise: more than one million paid subscribers, over 100 million monthly visits, and upwards of 175 million images and videos generated each month. The company has also reached approximately $230 million in annual recurring revenue, making it one of Europe’s most successful bootstrapped AI firms.
